Congrats to Doriana and Larry

I shot my first wedding on Friday and had a great time doing it. I'm very pleased with the results and I hope the bride and groom will be too. They're in Thailand for 2 weeks on their honeymoon, so I'll have a CD ready for them when they get back. They found me on Craig's List and I'm very grateful to them for giving me the opportunity to shoot their wedding. On top of that, it was with the understanding that I was going to do this for free because I need the material for my portfolio and I'm not exactly a professional, but they slipped me a little something anyway. Nice! Dinner on Saturday was on them!

I also networked a little while there, met a videographer by the name of John, and we exchanged info. There was a principal photographer there already, and I was there for the more candid shots. He did all the portrait stuff and was using a medium format Hasselblad film camera, I took candid shots with my EOS 20D. I think mine are more creative and spontaneous, (and I think they'll like them better) but you still have to have that portrait style stuff. That's the reason Doriana found me in the first place, because she was afraid the other guy would be too traditional, and he was.

In short, I love taking pictures. Good pictures make people happy, and that makes me happy.
